RISING FROM THE ASHES.

North Jersey Phoenix is a women's travel tournament team. Our players compete in women’s and co-ed tournaments throughout the year. Our team is based out of South Brunswick, NJ but we compete in tournaments throughout the country, which allows our players to not have any residency restrictions.

Phoenix is proud to have a strong core of players and coaches who have been with the team since its inception in 2013. From our roots as a college club team, to be coming a nationally recognized women's team, we have not changed our philosophy that hockey is for everyone. We look for players with a competitive drive, a positive attitude and a focus on growing the game. Team work is heavily emphasized, as it is the foundation of our organization.

North Jersey Phoenix is a women’s USA Hockey sanctioned tournament team. The team is comprised of women 18 years old and above who wish to continue playing recreational/ travel hockey at a high level in the state of New Jersey.

Phoenix is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that runs solely by passionate volunteer coaches and staff. All donations, merchandise sales, and fundraising goes directly to the team to help off-set player dues and travel costs.

We are always looking for more dedicated and passionate players to join our team. If you, or someone you know is interested in becoming a Phoenix, please contact us! We look forward to growing the game of women’s ice hockey through our success, outreach, and collaborations with other programs in the state of New Jersey and beyond.

History

North Jersey Phoenix was established in 2013 as a collegiate team for women enrolled in schools that did not offer a women’s hockey program. The collegiate team played in the Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference (DVCHC) for 2 seasons at the DII level from 2013-2015. During our time in the DVCHC, Phoenix made it to the Playoff Finals twice (2014, 2015) and finished 1st in DII during the 2014-15 regular season.

Phoenix joined the United Women’s Hockey League (UWHL) in 2016 to broaden our reach to allow for all women to play regardless of academic enrollment. The team played at the Blue (DI) and Silver (DII) levels for 6 seasons from 2016-2023. While a part of the UWHL, Phoenix made it to the Playoff Finals three times (2018, 2019, 2022) and in 2018 won the UWHL Championship at the Blue (DI) level for the 1st time.
